What happened? We went from 10 second saves (before downtime) to 100.6 second saves? I think there is something messed up somewhere that is making the saves take longer than they should. O.o SS:

Hmmm, I wish I knew. I guess I'll have to add a logging feature for save time so I can check for stuff like that and see if I can find a cause. In the meantime, if you see more of these, please post about it with the save time and what time of day it happened. Thanks.

I wonder if it has anything to do about my account, I try to log in and it gives me a message that another character is logged in... so I tried logging into my other characters, and it still gives me that message...

That might actually be my fault WereWolf. I had pulled your characters because I saw that you had won a 2nd Mystical Shield and I had a hard time believing it... Especially since you and Twiztid both won one on the same day. Try logging in again when you get a chance.

I've put some thought into this myself, I wonder if it has anything to do with the programs (other than MU) being on... such as antivirus software. Some antivirus software tends to scan your computer all the time... thus causing lag. You could also have something thats eating up all your RAM... But that's all I can think of that could be causing lag in intervals like that.

Now when the computer is simply idle, there's nothing else really using it and there's nowhere near as much RAM being used like when Firefox or something is running. Nothing over 100,000K in size and total memory usage is usually just around half. Maybe that's too much for quick saves though. The old server didn't really run anything else at all except the server and it was a machine from about 2003, but since it only had a single purpose it could at least devote itself to only that purpose.

Depending on what you use the computer for, you may be able to set MU's priority to high. This will cancel out almost everything else that might be making MU lag.
